Morocco was definitely not as romantic as we had imagined it to be. However, it was one of the most interesting and amazing countries we have visited. The cities are colourful labyrinths with a 1000 different smells that tickle your nostrils. Dirt and dust coats your feet as you get lost in the souks. People yell out to each other, to their donkeys, to you, trying to sell you their wares. On the other side of the spectrum, you can find vast mountainous landscapes that reach out to the magnificent Sahara desert where time stands still and life is about sand and stars. Along the coast, life seems easier, slower and friendlier. Seafood and space cakes are plentiful and seagulls flock around the lively fish markets. Morocco is a land of contrasts. Beauty and colour, dirt and poverty. For us, certainly a country we have to go back to and experience again and again. We made this video to give an impression of all the amazing things we saw in the two weeks we traveled around Morocco.
