2017 was a year full of challenges for us. It sure wasn’t an easy one but with perseverance and hard work we managed to end the year with a good 3,5 months of travelling and visited 13 countries in total. Some of those are countries we always come back to, some of them were countries we had never been before and some were countries we wanted to explore more of. Here is our year in photos. There, high above it all, it was quiet. Only the sound of the wind and the warmth of the sun reached me and the serenity was almost touchable. One of Melbourne’s most popular day trips is The Great Ocean Road. From the city it’s only about an hours drive to get to the start of this scenic route. The Great Ocean Road stretches 244 kilometres along the south eastern coast of Australia. It was built by soldiers who returned from World War One and is the world’s largest war memorial! Check out our video about our trip along The Great Ocean Road at the bottom of this post.

Melbourne is famous for many things. But the beach is not really one of them. When you talk about going to the beach in Melbourne, many Australians give you a smirky laugh as if to say “what beach?!”. Melbourne’s beaches are a bit different from the beaches Australia is famous for. There is no surf, no wild rocky coast, no stretches of sand as far as the eye can see. But despite all of that, there are still some nice places to enjoy some beach time on a hot sunny day. Watch our video at the bottom of this post to see what our favourite Melbourne beaches are like!
